The Hand Prints of Dr. Albert Einstein-Juniper publishers

Image
Journal of Forensic Sciences & Criminal Investigation Opinion The name Albert Einstein is synonymous with taking a step in another direction. When viewing the hand prints of Dr. Einstein, we should look at them from a different perspective. In this view, I shall focus on the element of chance rather than replication in recording of the dermal ridge arrangements. It is understood that when taking impressions, it is not possible to achieve two or more identical copies of the dermal ridge configurations. This is due to the constraining force used to reproduce the ridge formations. Notwithstanding, all impressions taken from the hand will display differences in contour and contrast with regard to the ridges and furrows. We do not know for certain the number of times impressions had been taken from the hands of Dr. Einstein. If there are additional documents available, we could examine one specimen next to the other. Nor can we say that every record taken would display the same ch...

The Huge Burden of Infertility in India- Are We Crumbling Underneath?-Juniper Publishers

Global Journal of Reproductive Medicine    Juniper Publishers Authored by:  Sabahat Rasool* Mini Review The good news is that around 90% of infertility issues are treatable. The success stories of Assisted Reproduction are getting bigger and bigger. We are on the verge of making artificial gametes. The bad news is that the burden of infertility (not able to get pregnant after 12 or more months of regular unprotected sexual intercourse) is high. The World Health Organization (WHO) states that one in every 4 couples in developing nations is affected by infertility [3]. India has 22-23 million infertile couples, and the total fertility rate, which is the number of children who would be born per woman if she were to pass through the childbearing years bearing children according to a current schedule of age-specific fertility rates, has declined from 3.9 in 1990s to 2.3 in 2013 [4]. On the contrary, the use of contraceptives has increased from 45% in 1988 to aro...

Reproductive Health Status and Health Seeking Behavior of Adolescent Girls in Selected Urban Slum of Dhaka City in Bangladesh-Juniper Publishers

Global Journal of Reproductive Medicine    Juniper Publishers Authored by:  Syeda Saima Alam* Introduction Adolescence is the transition period between childhood and adulthood. It is a period of life with specific health and developmental needs and rights [1]. To accommodate the different phases of development in the second decade of life, adolescence is often divided into early (10–13 years), middle (14–16 years) and late (17–19 years) adolescence [2]. They comprise 20% of the global population and about 80% of them live in developing countries like Bangladesh [3]. Among adolescents, adolescent girls experience more health-related problems and inequalities than others. They are deprived in all areas, including within the spheres of social status, economic power, and culture, and are ignored by the mainstream people. As a result, they are deprived of their essential needs. Hence, they are more vulnerable because of their social status. Health and nutri...

Immunological Approach of Personalized Treatment for Recurrent Implantation Failure Patients Undergoing IVF-Juniper Publishers

Image
Global Journal of Reproductive Medicine    Juniper Publishers Authored by:  Indira Hinduja* Introduction Immunological and inflammatory response plays very crucial role in making the endometrium receptive. In normal fertile women, under the influence of progesterone and estrogen, during the window of implantation (WOI) and before the arrival of blastocyst, immune cells like monocytes and natural killer cells migrate to the endometrium. Additionally, inflammatory factors like tumor necrosis factor (TNFα) and interferon-γ are secreted by the endometrial stromal cells to initiate the inflammatory action. These markers secrete pro-inflammatory cytokines such as interleukin (IL)1, IL6, leukemia inhibitory factor (LIF), leptin, Insulin-like growth factor (IGF)2, IL18 in the endometrial tissue [1]. The chemotaxis of monocytes to the secreted cytokines brings about the differentiation of monocytes into dendritic cells and macrophages in the presence of IL4 an...
