Improvement in multimodality treatment has enabled many cancer patients to survive a malignancy. However, these same treatments of cancer can result in gonadal dysfunction and infertility. Especially for patients younger than 39 years of age, there is strong interest in life after cancer treatment including having a partner and siring or having children. This review focuses primarily on the very special case of young female patients who are diagnosed with cancer prior to and during pregnancy. Here we will update obstetricians and gynecologists on the issues that should be considered including what fertility preservation options are available and the existing data on pediatric outcomes after a maternal cancer treatment. More data is necessary to fill in the data and option gaps for patients who face a cancer diagnosis during pregnancy to enable the healthiest outcome possible for the pregnant patient and unborn offspring.

He was diagnosed with tip 1 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) at the age of seven and intensive insulin therapy was instituted subsequently. Despite the stable blood glucose levels, the daily liquid intake of the patient was 10 liters, and the urine output was 9.5 liters. The patient also had complaints of loss of libido, impotence, erectile and ejaculatory dysfunction in the last 6 months. Sperm-Oviduct Interaction Factors that Compromise Fertility of Frozen Stallion Semen

Global Journal of Reproductive Medicine   Juniper Publishers Abstract The cryopreservation procedure changes the integrity and functionality of sperm, affecting their longevity and the ability to fertilize the oocyte. Moreover, some of those changes could be alter the physiologic interactions between the sperm and the oviductal epithelial cells prior to fertilization, placing further limitations and challenges on frozen-thawed stallion sperm. For fertilization to occur, a sperm subpopulation should be survive in uterine environment and be transported to oviduct, the tubular epithelium that regulate the sperm capacitation process in tuning with the ovulation and later oocyte fecundation.
