A 67-year-old woman suffering from lupus with corticosteroids for 3 years, has repeatedly consulted for urinary signs: essentially recurrent cystitis. The time between onset of symptoms and diagnosis was 38 months. Gynecological examination (Figure 1) revealed adistal diverticulum palpable along the urethral path. The cytobacteriological examination of the urine had isolated an Escherichia coli resistant to the usual antibiotics.
